Stumbled upon this photo by Bryan Maine – it’s of Larkspur Colorado – I have often wanted to take some sort of epic photo in this same valley – usually while I’m traveling 75 mph going to or from Denver along I-25. Yeah………that’s not how you take epic photos ………ya kinda haveta get out of your car, wait for the right moment. Anyway I thought Bryan’s photo really hit the spot.
Columbine Memorial 9/13/2008 – I had never been to the memorial for the Columbine Massacre – had heard that there was some controversy over the cost and that there was not enough money to cover the cost. People squabbling over how best to remember those that were lost. I have to say that the memorial is pretty powerful and I think they hit the right tone.
“She does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska, right next door to Russia.” –FOX News Channel’s Steve Doocy, gushing over Palin’s qualifications, to which Jon Stewart quipped, “When you think about it, Alaska is also near the North Pole, so she must also be friends with Santa.”
